The Attic + Student Cabaret!

KT invites you to a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience! Combining circus and theatre, this enchanting show for all ages tells the story of three friends who uncover an incredible secret in a trunk in the attic of an old house. “The Attic” takes you on a magical journey; featuring up-and-coming circus artists ranging in age from 8 to over 40, live music by the gypsy-circus band The Bird Circus Orchestra as well as a cabaret showcase featuring students of all ages and all skill levels!

Rope Workshop with Terry Crane & Jukka Juntti

2009 is proving to be an amazing year already. Despite the uncertain economy, circus still prevails! We have some exciting news and big plans for the coming month…
Rope & Tissue Intensive Workshop- Back By Popular Demand!World reknown aerialist/teacher Terry Crane + special guest teacher Finnish aerialist Jukka Juntti are coming to Kinetic Theory for an exclusive weekend of workshops! 

Gravity Defying 101- Designed for intermediate level aerial students, this class focuses on various climbs, movements, combinations, drops and descents. Students will explore original methods of climbing and gaining altitude. On the spectrum of most efficient to most decorative/aesthetic climbs, the students will learn a wide variety. The basic families of drops—including twisting, frontwards, sliding, and some miscellaneous will also be covered. This workshop will include a thorough warm-up and will end with conditioning. 

Saturday, February 14- 10am-1pm

“Ropeology”- Advanced/Professional: This workshop will cover a wide variety of material amassed from sources across the globe which is of interest to artists who already have a strong familiarity with rope and/or tissue. Unusual climbs and movements that seem to defy gravity, or at least work with it originally. High level locked and open drops will be presented for those who are ready. Also, Terry and Jukka will teach some sequences of movement from their own repertoire.

America’s Got Talent!
Congratulations to KT Troupe performers Hannah Finn, Scott Renkes and Darren Kessner and KT coach Anatoly Koshelev for making it through the preliminary audition for America’s Got Talent! The performers  auditioned in front of the show’s producers on Sat. Jan. 30th. We know you guys got talent, best of luck with the show!
Youth Summer Circus Camps Want to keep your little monkeys from hanging from the curtains or trying juggle your antique vase collection this summer? Look no further, KT Summer Circus Camp is the place to be! Kids ages 6-12 will learn a variety of circus skills including: tumbling, partner acrobatics, aerial arts, juggling, clowning and mime and learn how to put together their very own circus show and perform it for their family and friends!

Youth Training Intensive This intensive week of training is designed to prepare advanced young performers ages 14-20 for professional performance careers. Performers will focus on creative work geared towards development of an innovative, high- caliber act while working their acrobatic and aerial skills. KT Student Cabaret!
Mark your calendars: May 1 & 2 we will be hosting our first student showcase! Students of all levels and disciplines will show off their skills and The KT Circus and Youth Circus Troupes will present a new original production. Don’t miss this awesome show featuring the most talented bunch of circus freaks in LA!
